- High Tide & Surge Preparedness: The Potomac River experiences king tides and lunar surges. Ensure all bow, stern, and spring lines have sufficient slack and chafe protection.
- Shore Power Etiquette: Only use marine-grade UL-approved cords. Disconnect power when vessel is unoccupied for extended periods unless battery maintainers are active.
- Water Hose Management: Turn off dock hose bibs after each use and disconnect during freeze advisory periods.
- Discrepancy Reporting: Report damaged dock boards, loose cleats, or electrical faults immediately to the Dockmaster.
